Your Watch May Save Your Life In An Emergency

Good Friday watch world. Today I ran across a story of a man by the name of Mark Spencer who was stranded in the Alaskan back country for 48 hours. It’s reported that he was 120 northeast of Anchorage Alaska hunting. Luckily he had his Breitling Emergency time piece with him. The Breitling Emergency, which comes in different versions, is equipped with a microstransmitter that broadcast on the 121.5 aircraft emergency frequency. This watch was made for pilots that may experience a crash or forced landing. The watch will send a signal that rescuers can home in on after the protective cap on the watch is unscrewed and the antenna is extended fully. Not that this matters, but I think Brad Pitt wore this piece in  Ocean’s Eleven. The Emergency is also equipped with chronograph functions, a compass on the bezel along with a second time zone indicator. I’m just a little more impressed with the microtransmitter function.
